The Executive Assistant to the University President, Dr. Antonio I. Tamayao qualified for the 2009 Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Programme which shall be held on May 10-21, 2009. Dr. Tamayao joined the screening last December 8, 2009 and he was one of the eight (8) supervisors who were chosen to head the 80 student delegates (ages 16-18) coming from the different academic institutions in the country.
The JENESYS program is under the auspices of the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) and is expected to deepen the mutual understanding among young people who will assume important roles in the next generation in the Philippines. The participation of Dr. Tamayao shall be paid by JICE and he shall be the team leader of 22 students who shall act as ambassadors of goodwill of the Philippines to the different receiving organizations, academic institutions and international associations in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. After the programme, Dr. Tamayao and the group shall submit a concept paper for policy-making for youth development.
