Cagayan State University with the National Security Adviser, Norberto B. Gonzales and Undersecretary Milo Ibrado, Jr. and staff made an open dialogue on July 30, 2008 at the CSU Amphitheatre, Caritan Campus, Tuguegarao City. Fr. Ranhillo C. Aquino, Ph.D., SJD, Vice President for Academic Affairs formally welcomed the visitors and attending school officials during the said affair.
Participated by members of the academic community of the university, the "Dialogue on National Security" discussed salient issues circling the country today. Questions were raised during the open forum by the panel of reactors composed of student and faculty representatives which was moderated by the University Guidance Director, Dr. Febe Marl Paat.
Gonzales shared to the audience his sentiments on the future of the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao under the control of military organizations such as the MILF and MNLF- bereft the democracy it truly deserves, as well as the status of the peace talks in their region. He emphatically shared his points on matters regarding morality and the need for a religious upheaval in this generation, contributory to his shared "dream of a first world" for the country.
