FORMER CEO, NOW OIC-OFFICE OF THE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT TURNS OVER CARIG CAMPUS LEADERSHIP TO NEW CEO

The Red Eagles Gymnasium was jampacked as the former CEO of Cagayan State University (CSU) Carig Campus now OIC of the Office of the President, Dr. Arthur G. Ibanez, turned over responsibility to new campus CEO, Engr. Roger P. Rumpon, during the Send Off and Turn-over Ceremony conducted yesterday, February 8, 2024.

"Every door that you will open, you must close another, and always remember that not all endings are Goodbyes", this was the welcoming remark of Dr. Emer T. Quezon, Campus Director for Research Development and Extension, at the start of the program. His speech highlighted the relevance of change and acceptance of future opportunities in the ambition of moving forward.

Dr. Florentina S. Dumlao presented the Term Report of Dr. Alvarado from 2016 to 2024 featuring her significant accomplishments for more than seven (7) years of her transformative leadership at CSU.

As OIC of the Office of the President, Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez took the podium, he once again commended the foundation that the former University President, Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado built, who was also present in the ceremony. He lauded all her accomplishments along with the trials she braved in placing CSU where it is today. With this statement, Dr. Ibañez promised to accomplish and continue the projects and programs initiated by the former president, while emphasizing further that the projects visible today would not have been possible if not for the full support and approval of the former President.

CSU Carig Campus was then formally turned over by Dr. Ibañez to its new CEO Engr. Roger P. Rumpon in the transfer of key of responsibility, in the form of a symbolic carved red eagle statue. In his acceptance speech, Engr. Rumpon promised to commit himself in exercising professionalism and resilience in the discharge of his duties, along with his commitment to continue the legacy that the former CEO left.

CEO Rumpon also laid out his plans of more innovative and transformative ideas for Carig Campus, advancement and modernization of technologies and other innovative plans that will serve as a foundation for future CSUans.

Meanwhile, to honor Dr. Ibañez’ dedication to service and applauding the impact he made on the University's innovations, CSU Carig Campus prepared an audio-visual presentation showcasing various achievements that the campus acquired through his leadership as CEO. Audio visuals were also prepared for former President Dr. Alvarado and Engr. Rumpon, highlighting their achievements and accolades.

The morning ceremony reached an emotional conclusion as the administration, faculties, and students in the ceremony chorused in singing the song “The Journey” by Lea Salonga. Dr. Alvarado shared that her journey in CSU through her 7 years of service was not her journey alone, but a precious and amazing ride that she shared with every CSUan, extending her gratitude to everyone for the wonderful journey that has been.
