CSU, CBSUA SEAL ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP THROUGH MOU SIGNING

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Cagayan State University (CSU) and the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) formalized an academic and research partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 23, 2026, at the CSU Central Administration Conference Room.

The agreement, signed by CSU OIC President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez and CBSUA President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, establishes collaboration in student and faculty mobility, joint research and publications, academic program development, and other scholarly and extension activities.

In his message, Dr. Ibañez emphasized that the partnership comes at an opportune time for CSU to showcase its niche programs across campuses, particularly those based at the Carig Campus.

“Thank you, President Naperi, for visiting Cagayan State University. Now that we have a formal agreement, whatever areas you see where CSU can help, we are ready to send our faculty members and specialists to support your initiatives,” Dr. Ibañez said.

For his part, President Naperi shared that the benchmarking visit was driven by CBSUA’s strategic mission to strengthen institutional capacity through collaboration with leading universities.

“We have a mission to benchmark universities that we consider strong resources, and Cagayan State University is one of them,” Dr. Naperi said.

As part of the benchmarking activity, the CBSUA delegation visited key research and innovation facilities at the CSU–Carig Campus, including the Food Innovation Center, the Metals Engineering and Innovation Center (MEIC), and the Electromobility Research and Development Center (EMRDC).

The visit aimed to examine best practices in applied research, technology commercialization, and innovation-driven development, which may be adapted to CBSUA’s academic and extension programs.
