STA. ANA, CAGAYAN — Cagayan State University (CSU), led by OIC President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, opened its Strategic Planning Workshop and 2026 Targets Setting and Cascading on January 25, 2026, at the Blue Coast Hotel, Sta. Ana, Cagayan.
The three-day activity gathers university and campus officials, planning officers and coordinators, and stakeholders to align institutional priorities and performance targets this year.
The first day highlighted discussions on the future of state universities and colleges (SUCs), with Dr. Urdujah G. Alvarado, CSU Board of Regents Member and Chairperson of the Career Executive Service Board, presenting “The Future of SUCs: Trends and Disruptions,” and Dr. Florentina S. Dumlao, CSU Technical Consultant, sharing reflections in her talk, “Celebrating our Wins: How We Got Here and What We Have Learned.”
The succeeding days will feature talks on workforce upskilling and reskilling by Regional Director Dionisio C. Ledres Jr. of the Department of Economy, Planning and Development Region 02 and a Member of the CSU Board of Regents, and an analysis of threats to higher education by Fr. Ranhilio C. Aquino, University Consultant and Dean of the Graduate School of Law of San Beda University.
The workshop will culminate on January 27 with a Covenant Signing and Ceremonial Signing of the 2026 Office Performance and Commitment Reviews (OPCRs).
