Cagayan State University (CSU), through the University Planning and Development Office (UPDO) led by Dr. Ian Roger M. Francisco, successfully conducted the workshop on the proposed performance indicators under the core functions of faculty members on February 12, 2026, at Athena Hotel, CSU Andrews.
The workshop aimed to establish a clear and unified framework for evaluating faculty performance across instruction, research, extension, and production, ensuring alignment with the University’s Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS).
Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the University President, highlighted in his message that performance management should serve as a strategic mechanism to advance institutional excellence rather than a mere compliance requirement.
Dr. Regie R. Campano presented the workshop objectives and emphasized its participatory nature, encouraging faculty members to contribute insights grounded in academic practice. These inputs will guide the refinement of performance indicators and strengthen CSU’s SPMS.
Technical Adviser Dr. Florentina S. Dumlao discussed the proposed indicators alongside the President’s Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR), highlighting the importance of vertical alignment between university goals and individual faculty performance.
University Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Person Mr. Melvin M. Mora introduced GAD performance indicators to ensure inclusivity and social responsiveness within the evaluation framework.
Breakout sessions grouped participants according to academic rank to contextualize indicators based on roles and workload realities, followed by group presentations and an open forum that fostered collaborative dialogue and shared governance.
The activity concluded with action planning, evaluation, and feedback, marking a significant step toward a more responsive, equitable, and developmental performance management system for CSU faculty.
