CSU CONDUCTS FULBRIGHT ORIENTATION

Cagayan State University, through the Office of the Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership and Resource Mobilization, conducted a Fulbright Orientation Session in partnership with the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF), positioning the program as a strategic gateway to stronger U.S. academic linkages. The session was attended by select Faculty members endorsed by their Campus Executive Officer, all having the potential to be Fulbright scholars.

PAEF Executive Director Mr. Julio S. Amador III and Program Assistant Ms. Dominique Rupido presented Fulbright scholarship opportunities for CSU faculty across campuses, including grants for graduate study, research and teaching in the United States. They also discussed programs for inbound Fulbright visiting professors and specialists who may teach, conduct research and provide technical expertise in host institutions.

The OVPIPRM emphasized that Fulbright is not only an individual scholarship opportunity but a strategic internationalization platform. Upon returning, they bring back global networks, advanced methodologies and new perspectives that strengthen CSU’s mandates in instruction, research, extension, and production—an example of “brain gain” in action.

Likewise, hosting Fulbright visiting scholars and specialists can support CSU’s niche programs, enhance the curriculum, mentor faculty, enrich student learning and introduce new expertise that benefits communities and university-based production initiatives.
