In response to growing environmental challenges, Cagayan State University (CSU), under the leadership of OIC President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, inaugurated a Coconut-Pomelo-Sheep-Cow Integrated Production System in CSU-Sanchez Mira on March 26, 2026.
Campus Executive Officer Prof. Dr. Rodel Francisco T. Alegado led the initiative, which aligns with the university’s broader agenda to promote climate-resilient, innovation-driven agricultural systems.
A total of more than 1,500 seedlings were prepared for the project, 80 of which were ceremonially planted in designated orchard areas by invited guests from various regional and local agencies.
The activity gathered key stakeholders, including Board of Regents Members Hon. Urdujah G. Alvarado and Hon. Dionisio C. Ledres Jr.; Sanchez Mira Municipal Mayor Hon. Abraham B. Bagasin; Department of Agriculture Regional Executive Director Hon. Rose Mary Q. Aquino, represented by Dr. Bryan S. Sibayan; Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional Executive Director Atty. Ismael T. Manaligod, represented by Sanchez Mira CENR Officer Ms. Aida S. Adap; and TESDA Assistant Regional Director and Cagayan Provincial Director Genaro Ronald C. Ibay.
Also in attendance were university and campus officials, faculty, staff, students, partner stakeholders, and guests, all demonstrating strong inter-agency collaboration in advancing sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural development initiatives in the region.
