Cagayan State University–Gonzaga Campus led by Campus Executive Officer Dr. Froilan A. Pacris Jr., together with university officials and partner agencies from the Local Government Unit of Gonzaga and the Department of Agriculture Region 02, formally launched major infrastructure and development projects today, May 13, 2026, aimed at promoting sustainability, inclusive development, and agricultural innovation.
The launched projects include the Bamboo Sanctuary Café, the Sheep Multiplier Project under the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development Program funded by the Department of Agriculture Region 02, the ROOT RISE Program, and the Gender-Neutral and PWD-Inclusive Comfort Room.
The Bamboo Sanctuary Café serves as a sustainable campus café and learning hub that promotes community engagement, entrepreneurship, and the use of locally sourced products through bamboo-inspired concepts.
Meanwhile, the Sheep Multiplier Project under the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development Program aims to improve regional sheep production, strengthen farmer livelihood opportunities, and enhance livestock-based learning and research.
Also inaugurated was the Gender-Neutral and PWD-Inclusive Comfort Room which strengthens the university’s commitment to accessibility, equality, and inclusive campus development through universal design features for all users.
Simultaneously, CSU Gonzaga launched ROOT RISE or Advancing Rootcrops through RDE and Entrepreneurial Management for Bamboo-Based and other Farming Systems, an integrated research and extension initiative promoting sustainable root crop production, agri-enterprise development, food security, and bamboo-based farming systems through training, product development, and market linkages.
