Cagayan State University–Lasam Campus formally broke ground for the construction of its Student Conference Hall during a ceremony attended by university and campus officials on May 12, 2026.
University officials led by Officer-in-Charge President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, together with campus officials headed by Campus Executive Officer Dr. Florante Victor M. Balatico, and Student Regent Kyle Aron T. Tan, spearheaded the event.
The project was approved as a joint initiative to address the lack of a dedicated venue for student-led meetings, seminars, and organizational activities.
Funding for the facility includes ₱500,000 from the University Student Council Federation (USCF), ₱400,000 from the CSU Lasam Campus Administration, and additional support from the Central Administration.
The Student Conference Hall is expected to strengthen student governance and provide CSUans with a functional space for leadership and campus engagements.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, a simultaneous blessing of newly acquired laboratory equipment for the College of Industrial Technology program offerings was also conducted. This includes a Mechanical Lifter, Lathe and Milling Machines, aimed at enhancing students’ hands-on learning experiences and technical competencies.
Also in attendance were Lasam Mayor Dante Dexter A. Agatep Jr. and Board of Regents (BOR) members Hon. Ricardo B. Casauay and Hon. Noel T. Veridiano II, joined by Vice Presidents Dr. Mariden V. Cauilan and Dr. Audy R. Quebral, along with other university officials. The inauguration was blessed by Rev. Fr. Julius M. Teaño.
