CSU WELCOMES CHED CHAIR AGRUPIS FOR COMMENCEMENT AND CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis arrived in Tuguegarao City this afternoon, May 28, 2026, and was warmly welcomed by Cagayan State University (CSU) led by Officer-In-Charge President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, together with members of the Board of Regents, university and campus officials, and CHED Regional Office 02 officials.

Following a brief stop at the CSU Athena Hotel, the delegation proceeded to CSU Aparri Campus where Chairperson Agrupis was warmly received with the hospitality and vibrant spirit of the host campus community.

Dr. Agrupis expressed her admiration for CSU’s vision and determination, sharing that she always finds ways to include CSU in her schedule because of the university’s strong drive for innovation and growth.

“There is no reason not to come to Cagayan State University. They always make things happen. The audacity to dream is so big, even beyond what others can imagine,” she remarked.

Dr. Agrupis also expressed her vision for CSU Aparri to become a premier tourism destination in the region and in the country, citing the Cagayan River development initiative as a challenge and opportunity for CSU to lead transformative development in the north.

Meanwhile, the CHED Chairperson graced the blessing of the newly renovated Villa and the soft launch of Pond De Coco, a campus initiative under the university's orchard establishment project.

Dr. Agrupis is set to deliver the commencement address for the two batches of graduates during the 48th Commencement Exercises of CSU Aparri Campus tomorrow, May 29.
