Cagayan State University has been recognized among the world's higher education institutions in the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, earning an overall ranking of 1001–1500 out of 1,646 universities worldwide.

The THE Sustainability Impact Ratings evaluate universities' performance in addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through research, teaching, institutional management, and community outreach.

Among Cagayan State University’s strongest performances were:

• 301–400 in Zero Hunger (SDG 2)

• 401–600 in No Poverty (SDG 1)

• 401–600 in Gender Equality (SDG 5)

• 401–600 in Life on Land (SDG 15)

The University also received rankings in Climate Action, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Reduced Inequalities, Life Below Water, and Partnerships for the Goals.
