As part of the efforts to explore potential collaboration on sustainable transportation initiatives, officials from Aklan State University (ASU) and the Aklan Electric Cooperative (AKELCO) paid a courtesy visit to Cagayan State University Officer-in-Charge President Dr. Arthur G. IbaƱez this morning, July 9, 2026.
Following the courtesy call, the delegation, led by ASU President Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, together with NSTP Director Prof. Richard Dionisio, AKELCO General Manager Atty. Ariel B. Gepty, and Board President Virgilio C. Sacdalan, proceeded to CSU Carig for an exploratory meeting on the possible deployment of CSU-developed electric vehicles in Aklan.
The visitors will be introduced to the university's electric mobility innovations developed by the Electric Mobility Research and Development Center (EMRDC), including the 6+1 and 3+1 Electric Tricycles (eTrikes), Converted Electric Tricycle (c-Trike), Electric Public Utility Bus (eBus), eGolf Cart, Electric Multi-Purpose Boat (eMPBoat), and the Standardized Battery Swapping Technology (BatSwap).
