Cagayan State University officially commenced its ASEAN Month Celebration on August 3, 2026, joining institutions across the country in commemorating the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Anchored on the theme "Navigating Our Future, Together," this year's celebration highlights the importance of unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility among ASEAN member states.

Officer-in-Charge University President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez stressed Cagayan State University's commitment to developing globally competitive graduates equipped with technical competence, intercultural understanding, adaptability, and leadership.

Dr. Ibañez likewise reminded the university community that building a stronger ASEAN begins with everyday actions rooted in respect, collaboration, and excellence.

Parallel kickoff programs were simultaneously held in Cagayan State University's nine campuses, bringing together university and campus officials, faculty members, staff, and students in celebrating the University's shared commitment to regional integration and internationalization.

ASEAN, established on August 8, 1967, through the Bangkok Declaration, has grown from five founding nations into a vibrant regional organization composed of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.

Through the month-long celebration, Cagayan State University continues to strengthen awareness of ASEAN's ideals while promoting regional solidarity, intercultural appreciation, and academic collaboration among its stakeholders.
