August 25, 2026 – Cagayan State University is strengthening its gender mainstreaming efforts as it reviewed its GAD accomplishments and began laying down its gender-responsive priorities for 2027 during a Mid-Year Performance Review and GAD Planning and Budget Briefing Workshop at the Claude Convention Center, CSU Andrews Campus.

Organized by the University Gender and Development Office, the hybrid activity brought together Campus GAD coordinators, planning officers, and budget officers to assess implementation, identify gaps, and align GAD initiatives with the University’s strategic directions.

The review covered the 2025 GAD accomplishments and the January–June 2026 GAD accomplishments of the campuses, followed by discussions on the way forward and the commitments needed to further strengthen GAD mainstreaming.

It also featured integration of GAD into the University’s Work and Financial Plan and briefing on the 2027 National Expenditure Program.

Pursuant to Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Memorandum Circular No. 2026-04, the second part of the activity shifted to the preparation of the FY 2027 GAD Plan and Budget, with Resource Person Marita C. Pimentel, Independent GAD Consultant – PCW GAD Resource Pool Batch, providing the briefing and technical guidance.

Participants subsequently engaged in a workshop, presented their outputs, and underwent critiquing to ensure that proposed GAD programs and interventions are responsive to identified gender issues and aligned with national and institutional priorities.

The activity also featured the ceremonial signing of the 2027 IPCR/OPCR, strengthening individual and organizational accountability in the implementation of GAD commitments.

Meanwhile, Vice President for Administrative and Finance Dr. Theresa B. Dimalanta and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mariden V. Cauilan, ably represented by Director of Instruction Dr. Lirio Gudina C. Mangawil, delivered messages highlighting the importance of sustained institutional commitment to gender-responsive programs, planning, and implementation.
