Researchers and extension practitioners from the different campuses of Cagayan State University (CSU) presented their completed projects and programs during the 46th University Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) In-House Review held October 14, 2026, at the CSU Claude Andrews Convention Center.

Themed “Advancing CSU’s Impact Science Approach (ISA) for Transformative Solutions to the... Sustainable Development Goals,” the annual activity provided a venue for researchers to present their accomplishments before panels of evaluators from government agencies, the academe, and other partner institutions.

The presentations were grouped into four categories: Experimental/Applied Research, Technological Research, Social Research, and Development/Extension.

Among the featured technological studies were the development of an improved and cost-effective electric conversion kit for conventional tricycles, electrification and adaptation of heritage tranvias, an e-Cart digital marketing platform for the Aparri Aramang Association, and a paperless QR code-based attendance system.

The Social Research category included studies on the experiences of tricycle drivers, predictors of licensure examination performance, teacher well-being, ChatGPT use in learning, psychosocial practices for justice-involved youth, AI literacy, bamboo value chains, and coconut enterprise development.

Meanwhile, the Development and Extension category featured initiatives focused on community empowerment, mangrove crab production, fishery product development, digital literacy, agricultural development, cacao, technology adaptation, online learning, and organic farming.

In his inspirational message, Officer-In-Charge University President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez emphasized that the University's RDE agenda must be anchored on impact.

He challenged researchers to move beyond asking what has been completed and instead determine what has changed because of their work and what further action is needed to sustain that change.

Dr. Ibañez identified six pathways of impact which include publications, patents, products, policies, partnerships, and people as avenues through which CSU research can contribute to society.

The activity also highlighted the importance of strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration and connecting CSU's research strengths with regional development priorities.

The 46th In-House Review strengthens Cagayan State University's continuing commitment to research, development, and extension as instruments of public service and sustainable regional development.
